1. Ship bow wave simulator

2. Wind wave tank

3. Simple cube

1. Ship bow wave simulator

Divergent ship bow waves are simulated experimentally with a two-dimensional wave maker that employs a flexible wave board.

The wave maker is programmed so that the wave board creates a time sequence of shapes that simulates the line of intersection between one side of the hull of a slender ship model moving at constant speed and an imaginary vertical plane oriented normal to the ship model track.

2. Wind wave tank

Wind wave tank motors

The tank is used to simulate wind waves by using to fans mounted at the top of one end of tank.

3. Simple cube

Simple cube

Inside the tank there is a simple cube made of aluminum with X pressure sensors on the front surface. This cube is part of the breaking wave impact on partially submerged cube experiment.
